ARTIST: The Devil Whale

TRACK: Golden

GENRE: Indie/Folk/Rock

———————————————————————————

The Devil Whale, hailing from salt lake city, is a four piece indie/folk/rock band. When I read about a new folk/rock band, I tend to assume that their music will be the same old run-of-the-mill four chord progressions with a mediocre vocalist singing unoriginal lyrics. HOWEVER, despite my cynical assumptions, The Devil Whale reinvents the folk genre in more ways than one with their latest album, “Teeth”.  Between the poetic lyricism backed by warm harmonies, the crunchy guitars, the tight bass lines and the wavy electric pianos, the hole album makes an old style feel awfully fresh.
